Peterman Power Equipment is now part of Messick Equipment, Inc.

February 22, 2012Posted by Messicks

Effective March 5th, 2012 Peterman Power Equipment is joining the Messicks family.

The combined dealerships plan to provide the same quality service Peterman has been known for, while offering some of the expanded services and depth Messicks can provide.

The acquisition expands Messicks territory to the west allowing us to better serve new and existing customers in Cumberland, Perry, Franklin, Fulton and Huntingdon counties.

Messicks agricultural background will aid Peterman in returning to its roots in farm machinery while maintaining its existing lawn and landscape customer base.

What's happening to Peterman Power?

The existing staff of Peterman Power will largely remain, Diane Fabo and Dave Peterman will still greet you at the parts counter. Larry Wert will remain in sales, and Ralph and Lois Peterman will phase out to retirement as they see fit.
A new service manager and additional salesmen will be added shortly, followed by additional parts and service technicians as needed. Peterman Power was acquired by Messicks after conversations lasting nearly two years. Both companies saw a brighter future working together and sprits are high as we head into this venture together.

What will be changing?

Beyond some logos and a fresh coat of paint, there will be few initial changes. All current product lines will remain, including Kubota, eXmark, Simplicity, Snapper and Stihl. Kubota construction will be added bringing a full line of excavators and Kubota's new SVL series track loaders. Agricultural and construction short lines will be used to make sure that we're able to service all equipment needs, be it Landscape, Farm or Construction.

The depth of services and products available in the Carlisle area will take a big leap. Messicks will offer daily parts transfers from our other locations backing up the store with 40-50 times more parts inventory at their fingertips. The combined sales efforts of Messicks 4 other locations will enable volume pricing, quicken deliveries with a deeper stock of tractors, and allow the sales force to match customers with over $3,000,000 in used equipment. Its our unanimous opinion that the resources from Messicks can take Peterman Power to new places.
